La Pescheria is one of the biggest fish markets in Italy – It’s lively, colorful, smelly, and gritty with an exuberant and bustling atmosphere.

The entrance to the market (known as a pescheria in Italian) is just behind the Baroque Amenano Fountain, also pictured, inthe south-west corner of the piazza di the duomo di Catania, the Cattedrale di Sant’Agata -with its amazing blueish-grey baroque architecture and the iconic Fontana dell’Elefante in the center of the piazza.
